Overview

Arizona is home to the original Sun City community and has some of the largest active adult retirement communities in the country. Sun City and its two neighboring communities Sun City West and Sun City Grand have over 50,000 homes just among themselves. Between July 2007 and July 2008, Arizona was the second fastest-growing state with its population increasing 2.3%.[1] In prior years, Arizona has repeatedly been one of the top two states with the fastest growth.

Taxes

Personal Income Tax

The personal income tax rate in Arizona ranges from 2.59% to 4.54% depending on the income bracket.[2]

Sales Tax

The general sales tax rate is 5.6%. All counties and some cities impose additional sales surtaxes which can exceed 4% beyond the 5.6% state tax.
