Located within 1-3 miles of Sun City Center and accessible by golf cart are Publix and Winn Dixie grocery stores, many banks, medical offices, a post office, Bealls Department Store, CVS and Walgreens, hair salons and other service providers. Within 3 miles, but not golf-cart accessible, are Walmart and Home Depot. Brandon, 17 miles north of Sun City Center, has a concentration of big-box stores, including Costco, Sam’s Club, Target, JoAnn Fabric and Craft store and several furniture stores. Also in Brandon, the Brandon Town Center Mall has anchor stores Dillard’s, JC Penney, Macy’s and Sears. The Prime Outlets of Ellenton, about 20 miles south, is a large outlet mall with about 130 brand name stores.


There are several restaurants accessible by golf cart; Java Cow, McDonald’s, Burger King, Checkers, Taco Bell, Danny Boy’s and CJ’s Deli & Café. Nearby, but not golf-cart accessible, are Denny’s Restaurant, Bob Evans Restaurant, Sonny’s BBQ, Copper Penny, and Beef O’Bradys. In Brandon, 17 miles north, there are many chain restaurants, including Chili’s, Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse and Cheddars Casual Café.

The Tampa Bay area, in which Sun City Center is located, has several major league sports teams, cultural activities and museums (Tampa Bay Symphony, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Tampa Museum of Art and Sarasota’s Ringling Art Museum), the Busch Gardens theme park and historic Ybor City. Disney World, Epcot Center, MGM Studios and Universal Studios are all located near Orlando about 100 miles away.

Hotels and Motels

The Days Inn of Sun City Center and the Comfort Inn are both located within Sun City Center. A few more lodging options are located in nearby Ruskin, including a Holiday Inn Express which is only a couple of blocks west of the Comfort Inn. More options, including upscale hotels, are available about 15 miles north in Tampa.
